Woodbridge Real Estate Information in Virginia
Located 22 miles south of bustling Washington D.C. in Prince William County is the city of Woodbridge. The community of some 50,000 residents is located just off I-95 on the banks of Occoquan River along Belmont Bay. Woodbridge is primarily a bedroom community made up of a number of lovely neighborhoods. The city offers its residents excellent schools, a low crime rate, plenty of recreational opportunities and easy access to the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.
The centerpiece of the Woodbridge community is a mixed-use development built on the site of the former Woodbridge Research Facility. The site includes a beautiful new protected marina located on the Occoquan River in the midst of a 300-acre development consisting of residential, commercial and retail shops. A new spectacular 18-hole golf course is located nearby. Starting high on a bluff, The Ospreys golf course gently descends through hills and area ponds to flatlands and wetlands along the river. The neighboring nature preserve creates an environment rich with wildlife.
Woodbridge is also home to the Potomac Mills Outlet Mall, the Hylton Chapel and the Potomac Nationals, a minor league baseball team. Lake Ridge, one of the major communities in Woodbridge, provides properties with views of the Occoquan Reservoir and several parks and recreational activities such as boating, golf and swimming. Mount Vernon is just a short drive away. Dale City, one of the first planned communities built by Hilton, is located nearby and features four shopping centers and two major recreation centers.
